Within business hours, servers are normally setup within 60 minutes. Outside business hours, servers are setup first thing the following working day.

All servers are setup completely free of charge.

Servers are charged on a monthly basis, invoiced on the 1st of each month.

Your first invoice will include a pro-rata charge for the remainder of the current month plus the following month in advance.

Example: Server ordered on the 16th Jan. Invoice will cover the period 16th Jan - 28th Feb.

We split up the primary host server CPU's into a number of virtual cores. The VPS is then allocated a number of these virtual cores.

Each of these virtual cores has a minimum allocation of CPU power roughly equivalent to that of a 2002 1.4GHz Pentium 4 processor. However, the VPS's cores can burst beyond that up to a maximum equivalent of one modern 2.8GHz Xeon core.

Each VPS has a minimum level of dedicated RAM assigned to it for maximum stability and performance.

All VPS's come with RAID I mirroring services as standard. This allows us to swap out a host server drive without compromising the integrity of the data for the contained VPS servers.

A disk transaction/second level is the number of operations your VPS can carry out on the server. A normal SATA drive will carry out around 300 transactions/second.

This figure is a minimum dedicated amount for your VPS but it is possibly to burst beyond this amount.

Unmetered bandwidth means that your VPS has part or all of a dedicated connection for the host server. You then share this available bandwidth which is known as contention.

The contention ratio is simply a measure of how many users share a connection. As an example, most ADSL lines have a contention ratio of 50:1 which means that a 10MBit connection say is shared between 50 people. In reality though only 1 or 2 users would be using the connection at the same time meaning they would get close to the 10Mbit rate.

Unmetered does not mean unlimited though, a 1Mbps connection would give you a maximum transfer of around 400GB/month.

If you would rather not share your bandwidth the the monthly inclusive option is a better choice.

Metered connections are burstable up to 10Mbps for your VPS and we will charge you for excess bandwidth usage. You start off with 25GB/month of bandwidth and then pay for any usage over the limit. The additional bandwidth is available in pre-paid blocks up to 150GB/month.

If you would prefer not to worry about using all your inclusive transfer then the unmetered connection is a better choice.

Each VPS server is allocated a minimum of 2 IP addresses. If you need to SSL certificates or need to run services such as DNS on your VPS then you will need additional IPs.

Additional IPs are available at a rate pf £4 + vat/month/IP as long as the usage is justified under RIPE guidelines.

cPanel and Web Host Manager are state of the art tools for managing your Linux VPS server. They will allow you to quickly and easily manage account, create domains, control mailboxes and much more besides.

Our VPS cPanel licenses are optimised specifically for a VPS platform to ensure that resource usage is kept to the very bare minimum.
